Third Reich

This project ‘Lest We Forget’ is dedicated to my great friend and Auschwitz survivor, Martin Bennett.

The photographs illustrate the Third Reich's darkest chapter in Europe's recent history - the Holocaust. From the private collection of Andy Jones, representing not only the atrocities committed in Nazi Germany during WWII, but also a glimpse into the psyche of the men and women behind it, foremost the infamous and brutal SS (Schutzstaffel).

Barbed wire, electricity isolators and a syringe set from the Auschwitz concentration camp. POW clothes, a cyanide capsule given out to members of the SS, alongside ceremonial daggers and a wedding gift a copy of Hitler’s 'Mein Kampf'. Himmler’s signature stamp and transportation stamps from Dachau and Stutthof. Hitler’s 1933 Christmas portrait from his desk and his monogrammed cutlery.'
